Please Note:
If your receiver has no pre-amp outputs or main amp
inputs, you have three alternatives to using High-Pass filters:
1) Run your main speakers full-range (no High-Pass filters)
using the subwoofer to fill in the bottom only. If you have enough
power and your main speaker aren't straining, this is probably the
best approach.
2) Insert a 200mfd NON-polarized (100 volt or greater)
capacitor in series with each main speaker. This is the function
of the "speaker-outputs" on many powered subs. It will
provide some low-bass roll-off to the main speakers but is not as
linear as a line-level high-pass.
3) Consider upgrading to a better receiver or separates.
